Here we are after the 5th of 8 weekends. It marked the return of Southern California's Premiere German band, The Express Band, and the finals of the unique Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest Queen contest. As you may or may not know, the Queen wins that honor by carrying the highest number of steins filled with water because we don’t want to waste beer. Each stein with water weighs 5 lbs.). This years Queen is Genny Gillian and she ended up carrying 16 steins (I’ll leave the math to you).
I also recorded a video of our weekend dance group (and my favorite of all the dance groups), The Cripple Creek Cloggers, and I've included it here for your viewing pleasure.
