KTLA Visit (26 Sep. 2014) Videos

This "week" we have a special treat for you and I've decided to create a separate page just for the videos.  We were invited to the KTLA (TV5) studios in Los Angeles to promote the Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest on their highly rated Morning News show.  I did record the entire three (3) hour show on my DVR at home and have finally completed the conversions and uploaded them to YouTube and you can view them below by clicking the links.

[For anyone interested in the details of the process in the Macintosh world, the show was aired in HD but my DVD Recorder is only SD.  So, after recording the clips from the DVR to a DVD, I used a program named "VidConvert" to extract the video from the DVD, another program called "MPEG Streamclip" to convert that QuickTime video output to HD (1280x720) and then QuickTime to trim the clip and upload it to YouTube.  Maybe now you'll understand why it took a while to get it done.]

1)  First I want to set the scene for you with a weather forecast that was part of the show.  It also included a short segment on Big Bear's weather forecast.

2)  Next is our first tease of the day was at 07:57 am doing the Chicken Dance with Mindy Stearns.  She was sitting in for the normal Entertainment Editor, Sam Rubin (I didn't catch why he was away).  Mindy does a pretty good rooster, by the way.

3)  That was followed with a Band and Log-Sawing tease at 8:18 am.

4)  Then, at 08:52 am we had a Band and Gaudi dancing tease.

5)  Another Band and Log-Sawing tease came at 08:56 am.

6)  Getting closer.  At 09:20 am, was the final tease before our upcoming segment.

7)  And, finally, at 09:23 am, here was our approximately five (5) minute segment.

Now you can go back and watch the behind-the-scenes pictures and maybe you can see how the whole day was put together.  Hint:  It involves a lot of standing around.  Enjoy!
