Well, like I said, it was the last day of this year's Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest. 44 years of fun and merriment with good friends and family are now firmly stored in the way-back machine. All of these pictures are from one day but not all will have captions this time because the subjects are mostly the costumed guests and you can easily see the same things I saw. To kind of set the stage for what it looked like, here's a panorama I shot from the stage during one of the log sawing contests in the evening. Click on the image to bring up a full-sized version. And then it just became more crowded from there.

And before we get to the pictures, I'll insert a few videos I took during the day during the costume judging.
The first will be the entire younger children's group marching in a circle for the judges.
Next are the 10 finalists for the younger children's group. The winner's pictures will be in the photos below.
Now comes the older children marching in a circle before the judges.
Now we're into the evening when adults have taken over. Look how packed the floor is.
And I captured (along with just about every other phone and camera that was in the house) the initial entrance of the costume that would eventually be our adult winner. See if you can pick it out.
