Here we are at our 5th of 7 weekends. It marked the return of Southern California's Premiere German band, The Express Band, and the finals of the unique Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest Queen contest. As you may or may not know, the Queen wins that honor by carrying the highest number of steins filled with liquid (each weighing 5 lbs.). This years Queen is Stevie Benevento who ended up carrying 15 steins (you do the math).
As I mentioned, I also recorded a video of our weekend dance group, The Cripple Creek Cloggers, performing to "Cripple Creek" and I've included it here for your viewing pleasure.
We were also joined by more family this weekend. Matt & Lina came up from Corona with their three children and friends Tony & Christina along with their kids. Matt & Tony competed in Men's log-sawing on Saturday and came in fourth in their group. Sorry, guys, I did record it and I'll let you view that before we get to the pictures.
Now lets move on to the pictures. And please pay close attention to the last picture. There were 182(!) barrels of beer consumed this weekend - an all-time record. Never before in the history of this Oktoberfest, even for a 3-day weekend, have they gone through that many! I knew it was busy but not necessarily that busy! Now, please enjoy the pictures.
